After recognizing River Tribe as the first outdoor center in Europe for the number of sustainable activities offered and for the unique concept, it is National Geographic Traveler UK that dedicates an entire interview to the founder, Antonio Trani.

The article is actually titled: "Life among the rapids: the globetrotting sportsman Antonio Trani makes rafting a lifestyle in southern Italy".

Antonio's story is truly fascinating: originally from southern Italy, he spent his childhood diving into the Lao River and exploring its Canyon. At 20 he decided to leave and collect experiences around the world, doing rafting and leading expeditions along some of the largest rivers between Italy, Argentina, Chile, Mexico, Peru, Bolivia, Brazil, Costa Rica, United States, Morocco, Nepal and India, before returning to his country of origin, Laino Borgo, and founding River Tribe: outdoor center and tour operator offering single activities or multi-day adventures in the most protected area vast part of Italy, the Pollino National Park.

To the question “where does your adventurous streak come from”? Antonio replies: "from the values ​​that my parents passed on to me: courage, freedom, respect and love are the fundamental pillars of my life. They have always encouraged me to live without fear." And it is precisely thanks to his mettle that he was able to face challenging situations such as when "I was chased by a crocodile while doing kayak in Costa Rica" or "in India I was threatened with a knife and robbed; and I saw the bodies of lifeless children floating in the Ganges".

Among the destinations that most impressed Antonio, a mention certainly goes to the Colorado River, where "I led 25-day expeditions through the Grand Canyon. There are no phones or computers. There is only you and your thoughts, your emotions and nature."

My job is to educate people to respect our natural environment", and again, referring to the post coronavirus period, "people have had more time to think about the type of life they would like to lead; many of them, stuck in the city, have understood how important it is to choose travel destinations where they can come into contact with nature and with local traditions".
