How to choose a MTB tour in the Pollino

Cross the Castle combines dirt and history around Laino Castello; the Tour of Historical Villages favours the cultural landscape; the Lao River Trail follows the environment of the valley. MTB Advanced is the proposal for those who have good physical preparation and want to ride in the highest sectors of the Park.

If the group has very different levels or wants to focus on the panorama with less uphill load, the e-bike is often more suitable. The assisted pedal does not eliminate the need for balance, braking and attention on the bottom: for MTB and e-bike the technical level should be evaluated separately from the physical form alone.

Pedaling in the Park without reducing it to one path

The Pollino is a border territory between Calabria and Basilicata, with accesses, quotas and very different funds. For this reason the cards describe the character of the experience and do not promise an immutable trace: weather, track status, forest jobs and group capacity may require a variant.

River Tribe includes basic driving, helmet and technical support. Before departure it is useful to indicate height, recent experience in MTB and any fears on descents or stretches exposed, so as to assign the bike and propose a consistent pace.
