Our territory offers so much that we have created various proposals and activities such as the rafting in the canyon del Lao. The gorges have a unique morphology and in some places the rocky walls exceed 300 metres, which is why it is one of the 10 deepest canyons in Europe and a UNESCO geosite. In fact it is one of the few UNESCO Geosites where it is possible to do rafting, river walking and camp on the banks of the river. The rafting expeditions are real adventure trips, you set off on a dinghy with your guide and your crew and camp for the night on the banks of the river. In the morning, after a session of yoga and a rich breakfast, we set off again to cover the Lao River doing rafting up to Papasidero.

Rafting expedition It was the first adventure trip we proposed in the canyon, it is two days of activity with an overnight stay on the banks of the river. Gathering in the evening around the fire is one of the most special moments, because the energy of adventure and wild nature leads you to relate on other levels and with another energy. Special bonds are created.

Archeo geo rafting expedition In the canyon del Lao area there is the important Grotta del Romito, which in fact is a UNESCO Geosite and one of the most important deposits in southern Italy dating back to the late Pleistocene. The cave is located inside a narrow canyon that offered protection and shelter and is famous for the important engraving of an "Aurochs" Ox (Bos primigenius). It is located near the Lao River, which was already active during the Paleolithic presence and used as a communication route and for food resources. The path that is followed during the rafting expedition Archaeoge from the banks of the river to the Cave could be one of the paths used by primitive man. On the second day of the trip there is a trekking trip to the Grotta del Romito, we have chosen to propose this experience with a historical focus given the importance of the archaeological site. At the end of trekking you return to base camp, dress as a river and cover the rest of the route doing rafting. This route also has a geological focus on the morphology of canyon del Lao.

Exploring Lao expedition It is a two-day adventure trip of rafting and river walking. The canyon del Lao is of karst origin and in addition to the deep central canyon there are many other lateral ones that we will discover by doing River Walking, which is a beautiful activity in which you walk in the water to discover the gorges dug by the Lao River.
