What is Rafting?
The rafting is the bridge between man and wild nature. The rafting is living the river, it is a combination of sport and spirituality, of connection and love with nature.
“The rafting is the bridge between man and wild nature” this is one of the most poetic and real definitions of Antonio Trani, a rafting guide with a capital “G”, who has traveled all over the world in search of the most important rivers, practicing this wonderful sport.
"It is the most beautiful sport in the world, because it is the maximum expression of the bond created between man, water and nature in a wild environment. The rafting acts as a bridge between man and nature, creating a profound union between them and pushes us to go to the wildest places on earth where it would otherwise be impossible to reach."
rafting is a team sport, each inflatable boat (technically called a raft) can carry around 6 people. To move the dinghy, among the rapids or on the simplest routes, propulsion in the water provided by the crew is necessary. Each person will have a paddle and must use it following the instructions of the guide who, positioned behind the crew, in addition to paddling together with the group, acts as a rudder and gives direction following the correct line in the river.
rafting is a relatively young activity, in fact it only took hold in southern Italy in 1995. It is a 100% sustainable sport (excluding the transfer service). Every day you can travel up to 50 km with zero impact, thanks to the propulsion of the river current and the paddling of the crew.
“The rafting can be experienced in two ways: in a sporting way or in a natural and spiritual way.”
Sporty, because it is one of the few sports in which you have the opportunity to experience extreme adventures even if you are just starting out, obviously always accompanied by professional and expert guides. Which, however, would be impossible if we compare it to other sports, in which great experience is essential in addition to having to be professional athletes.
Spiritual. One of the most important aspects is the connection with the water element. Living constantly in contact with the river is like being educated and enveloped by the beauty of the water itself. Like life that begins with a drop and then joins the whole and gradually grows until it expands and unites with the sea. During the journey the difficulties may be different or more intense than what we expected, but the flow of water does not stop even in front of the largest boulder... What is more similar to life?!
In rivers the power is very tangible, you really realize the strength it has especially in canyons and in the narrowest points! As in the rapids, waterfalls and every element that characterizes it.
The rafting is living the river, it is a combination of sport and spirituality, of connection and deep love with nature.
Just like people, each river is unique and teaches you something different, thanks to your relationship with it. Each river has a particular characteristic and changes every day just like us human beings. It is precisely these characteristics that make them truly unique and special, due to their nature and particularity!”
The rafting is one of those few activities that offers the opportunity to relate to great travelers and authentic adventurers (increasingly rare in the world of social networks!). The rafting pushes us to travel to the most pristine corners of the earth, to relate to populations isolated from the world and connected to each other only thanks to the river; all this gives a unique human cultural background, offered by great journeys!
rafting is a sport suitable for everyone! Accessible to children, people with no experience and even disabled people. And the wonderful gift it offers is giving everyone the opportunity to perceive the immensity of nature through the river.
From a sporting point of view it is an activity that allows you to work on concentration and the body: technique, resistance and strength, but also teamwork, discovery. An excellent exercise both physically and internally. The rafting is a sport where all the senses are activated! Listen to the guide's instructions, observe the companion nearby and move in a coordinated manner with the rest of the crew, follow the flow of the current with all of yourself!
