One week in Pollino: 7 days between Calabria and Basilicata

How to organize 7 days in Pollino between Calabria and Basilicata: Lao River, trekking, villages, bikes, rest and stay at River Camp.

A week in the Pollino allows you to stop choosing between water and mountains. The secret is to alternate active days and slow days, maintaining a base for at least three or four nights.

In the first days stay in the Lao valley: visit Laino Borgo, do rafting and dedicate a second day to river walking, packraft or e-bike. Then enter a day without a booked activity, useful for rest, weather or a visit to the villages.

The central section can take you to high altitude trails, with a guided trekking chosen based on preparation and conditions. The next day must be lighter: local cuisine, swimming pool, reading or a yoga session.

In the last few days explore another side of the Park or the Tyrrhenian coast, but avoid constant changes of accommodation. Distances on the map do not always tell the real times of mountain roads.

A week also allows you to react to the weather without losing the experience. If the river requires a change, the program can move to villages or land-based activities.
