Work on the Lao River

Working in the midst of nature, on the Lao River, increases love and respect for mother earth and consequently you live in harmony with yourself and with her.

In recent years the world of work has undergone radical changes due to the effect of politics and digitalization, but often it is forced to change work because underpaid and with unsustainable times, and that is why it increasingly expands the concept of “well being”, be well, “exist well”.

The quality of life passes above all through the quality of work and new job opportunities take shape, as well as new lifestyles, vision, that nature somehow manages to give us.

We all know the negative effects of Covid well, but surely we can name some positive ones too. Surely it has made us understand the importance of what is well in the midst of nature and the positive effect that it offers in mind, body and spirit. We also understood the importance of the time we deserve to dedicate to ourselves.

From these two last considerations we can say that Covid has facilitated a real boom of demands for outdoor activities and experiences, favoring the consolidation of professional figures in close contact with nature, such as rafting guides, trekking, mountain biking, etc...; and also professional figures working in the digital world in more modern and environmentally friendly contexts. Since always, the driving work has been underrated and little valued, but the desire to return to travel and the tourism sector as the main source of development, will give the opportunity to transform our passions in professions.

What do you want to do with NATURE?

That sense of freedom that arises from doing what you love, with the privilege of feeding your eyes with the beauties of mother nature. It means keeping healthy through a healthy lifestyle. Working in the midst of nature increases love and respect for mother earth and consequently you live in harmony with yourself and with it. Working in nature in close contact with tourists is also a source of a very strong and positive sharing energy. All these sensations are tested by our team every time we work and it is our task to stimulate more and more people, not only to the practice of these sports, but also to see them as a job opportunity.

What do you want to be a RAFTING GUIDE?

It means embracing a lifestyle made of nature, sport and adventure. A Rafting guide that chooses this sport as a 360° profession will realize you are in a wonderful world: work for rivers. It means exploring remote and deeply authentic areas, rivers can cross jungles, canyons, forests and seasonality of work leads to know different countries in the world.

A rafting guide generally, after the season in Italy or Europe, goes to work in South America, or goes first in Asia between Nepal and India, in the legendary Himalayan rivers, and then move to America. This offers the possibility not only to live always warm during the beautiful seasons, but above all to increase their cultural and experiential baggage through the knowledge of new peoples, cultures, traditions. New ways of working and living nature itself. A rafting guide also learns to speak at least 3 languages, has in-depth knowledge of the natural world, knows how to move in situations of difficulty in the middle of nature, learns to know the morphology of the rocks, the hydrodynamics of the river water, knows the most advanced rescue techniques in the river field. In addition, constant contact with people of all kinds develops an accurate knowledge of the human being. It is an activity that offers basic knowledge in the anthropological and psychological field.

Antonio Trani, Ceo & Founder of River Tribe and National Councillor of the Italian Federation Rafting, says: “The world desperately needs new guardians of nature, driving rafting also means this, makes you aware of the beauty and importance of protecting the environment. We must stimulate more and more people to this sense of belonging and protection of the natural world. I believe that anyone who can approach this world, especially young people and schools should promote such figures, see us real opportunities for work and personal growth. River Tribe promotes the importance of such professional figures. Those who want to start can start in the rafting centers recognized by the Italian Federation Rafting, or sign up and start the formative path of the Italian Federation Rafting. ”
