Laino Borgo: what to see and what to taste after the river

Laino Borgo is often the starting point for rafting, but it deserves time even after taking off the wetsuit. The town is located in the Lao valley and maintains a direct relationship with the river, the slopes and the roads that connect Calabria and Basilicata.

An unhurried walk allows you to observe glimpses of the centre, places of worship and daily life. Events and traditions change throughout the year: before traveling it is best to check the local calendar, because festivals and performances can completely change the atmosphere.

At the table, look for simple dishes linked to the territory. The handmade rascatelli, cured meats, cheeses, preserves and seasonal preparations tell more than a generic menu. Asking advice from those who live here is the best way to choose.

After intense activity, avoid making too many trips. A shower at River Camp, a break and a walk in the village make a complete day. If you stay two nights, you can add a Papasidero, Mormanno or a trekking without turning the holiday into a rush.
