River Tribe: before and after

Before starting with the River Tribe project everything was very different here… The base you see now was an open-air landfill. In fact, where there are now changing rooms and showers, there used to be a mechanical workshop and the garden was full of scrap metal, used oils and lots and lots of rubbish.

Antonio and his fraternal friends thus began to reclaim what would become the River Tribe, here in Laino everyone thought they were crazy, but they did it! It wasn't easy, in fact it was hard, the lawn wasn't growing because the soil was poisoned and first with bare hands then with excavators the River slowly began to take shape.

When we opened in August 2016 it was a bit spartan and everything took place outdoors, we only had the necessary equipment, but the passion and love for outdoor sport still made the experiences unforgettable.

Today the base is our paradise and is also a point of reference for the Laino Borgo community: In fact we are not just a sports center here you can regenerate near the river that passes through the woods, you can do yoga on the platform surrounded by trees, birds and squirrels, a swimming pool open to all and educational events such as art exhibitions, concerts and presentations of books on travel, adventure and contact with nature.

It seemed impossible but thanks to the vision of Antonio Trani after only 3 years of activity River Tribe has become the first outdoor center in Europe for the number of eco-sustainable activities for National Geographic Traveler UK.
